I was watching my Friday night shows and nice little commercial popped on about creating your own website for your small business. I, of course, had to check it seeing I build templates, headers graphics for the same purpose. It gives a person complete simple control of design, there own content or just modifying what is already there and quite a few other features for only $4.99 a month. Not that I was so worried about this totally squashing my design business but it did spark a fire under my rear to research my market once again and see what others were offering right now. It’s been an enlightening day, while most stayed some what the same, I noticed others who were much closer to exactly what I was doing were offering their designs much lower than mine. Almost giving the designs

A carved jack-o-lantern may very well be the most recognized symbol for the Halloween holiday. But using a sharp knife to carve them is not exactly an activity that everyone, especially the children who are so in love with Halloween, can do. During a field trip to a pumpkin farm, I discovered a Halloween activity that even the youngest members of the family can participate in. Pumpkin painting is a fun and safe way to celebrate autumn and Halloween. With just a few supplies: paint, brushes, sealer and your imagination, anyone can transform a plain pumpkin into a whimsical, life-like character. By tracing a pattern onto the pumpkin, young children can “paint by numbers” and create their own Halloween masterpiece. The best feature of painted pumpkins is their lifespan. A

Have you ever gone online in search of someone offering their opinion about a product or service you’re interested in purchasing? People do it all the time and that’s why it’s a great idea for a blog. Over at Just Add Sweat they offer great eGuides on how to start a home-based business. One of these guides is ‘How to Start a Review Blog for Fun and Profit’. JoAnne Wescott and Nicole Dean started the site because they were sick of the hype and fluff offered out there and wanted to provide something real that gets results. There’s a quote on their website that really does a great job of defining their whole concept: “Genius is one per cent inspiration and ninety-nine per cent perspiration.” – Thomas A. Edison What I really love about all their eGuides, including

Upon receiving some sound advice about a button ad of mine I decided on doing a little research. I did a lot of other research before I launched this site BUT I wish I had on this subject too. I am a web graphic designer and frankly it makes me want to go big with design, but sometimes big is bad. As I was reading about pet peeves that people have upon visiting websites I came to the realization that my huge design ideas were not going to work if I wanted my numbers to continue to increase. For most of the peeves I didn’t fall into such as I have a contact form readily available and easy to find. I don’t go crazy with different font types and multiple colors. I do however, embarrassingly admit I love animated graphics and elaborate graphics. I found out most people visiting your
