Direct Sales the Do’s and Don’ts of Networking on Twitter by Shelly Hill When it comes to using the social media site Twitter, there are a few Do’s and Don’ts you need to be aware of. Let’s start with the Do’s 1. Fill out your twitter profile so that others can learn a little more about you and your Direct Sales business. If possible, upload a small picture of yourself or a small business graphic. However, you will find that most twitter users prefer to see a personal photo compared to a business photo. 2. You will need to be consistent with your tweeting. You can’t just log in once a day, post 2 tweets and then jet out. You need to spend a little time tweeting about what is going on with your day or your business, so that you can build a relationship with your

If you’ve never had the pleasure of working with, purchasing from or just doing any kind of networking with then you are certainly missing out on a really amazing person. Mommy’s Helper Online’s Anita has been online for what seems like forever! I consider her one of the poineers who has built the WAHM country into what it is today! To do business or work with Anita is a pleasure. One example I love to share of her business ethics is when I could not for anything enter her Mommy’s Helper Community. She did everything, went above and beyond trying to get me logged in. It ended up being my security software. However, I wouldn’t have thought to check it should she had not of asked around and presented that as a possibility. I am not shy to tell you that I only buy my domain names

by Jimmy D. Brown I’ve always been impressed with those who can take overwhelming things and handle them with ease and poise. It never seemed to work that way for me, until I discovered the secret for tackling those daunting tasks. The secret is simple: make things simple! With just about every major undertaking, things can be simplified into a handful of “core” components. That makes them manageable. Manageable fosters productivity simply because I can work on something that seems accomplishable. And when productivity goes up, desired results come. I received the following question from one of my clients… “If you have to pick, what would you say are the top 2 or 3 things we should concentrate on? I’ve heard the domain/site(blog) are the most important, then others

How things can change in an instant! I will tell you I am a bit disappointed that my own husband pulled back on the site idea for Jensen’s Designs but I am not at all mad. He had a better offer to offer his items to a much more targeted market and he made the right decision for his crafts, honestly. So where does that leave me? I sat and thought about it for awhile today. My husbands suggestion was to leave the designs alone because I have had a few quote requests last few days. He said it was a sign that with him getting his offer and those request coming in, that now is not the time change that business drastically. There are a couple items I no longer want to offer so I will eliminate those and focus on the things I was going to keep offering but elsewhere. Sometimes

Lately I have noticed that some people take advantage of the mantra that work at home moms are not cut throat business executives, while this is true, neither are we push overs. Does that mean we conduct ourselves in a way that makes us appear to be? No, but to often we do! Giving those who need an out and out is how we do this! While I love to get a little sympathy from my fellow work at home moms now and again by posting on forums, twitter and facebook, I am doing it on a personal level and am sure to keep it separated. What I do not want is for anyone to feel that my angst about my situation is going to greatly affect my business. Even more so I have in place a basic plan should I have an emergency arise that takes me completely away from by business for more than 48hrs and it

As previously stated in Part 1 of rethinking your business, I talked about how things can spark the need to rethink where you business stands. Talked about the need to rethink, refocus and regain. If it’s time to refocus it, where would you start? Now this depends, what is your site or blogs market? Can you simply optimize your keywords and/or refresh your content with fresh, new up to date content? Are you trying to reach too wide of a market, should you focus on a smaller scale? With the internet things change quickly, what worked last month for you may be a thing of the past this month. Ok so it doesn’t always change that fast, but you get my point. Research, research, research is the best tool you have to gather the information needed to know where you should start to
