Have you ever sat at the edge of your seat watching a sporting event hoping like hell that “so and so” is going to score that goal? Did it ever occur to you how much work and how many failures it took to get him to this moment to score that game winning point?

It’s the same with our own goals! Getting out there and playing the game, practicing and learning are all a part of scoring the goal. A few bumps and bruises on our ego and pride along the way is inevitable. Like a lot of coaches will share “Keep you eye on the prize”. No matter what you’re doing, path your taking, “keeping your eye on the prize”, in this case your goal(s), is where your focus should lie.

I have a few short term goals for this year and a few long term goals in the next 5 years.

Short-term (by Dec.31 2009)
  1. To get my name out on the web as a graphic artist & painter
  2. To become a better writer all around
  3. To get a piece of my writing published
Long-term (within the next  5 years)
  1. To have enough paintings (plus prints) to show at a gallery and sell the prints
  2. To start writing for pay, articles & commentary sort of writing  like what  I do on Buy-Native
  3. Publish a few short stories
